Super PAC’s Efforts Contribute to Democratic House Majority and Senate Victories

Washington, DCProtecting Our Vote PAC (POVPAC), a super PAC dedicated to turning out African-American voters in key congressional races, contributed to wins in 15 contests in the U.S. House of Representatives and at least 5 contests in the US Senate where African-American turnout played a pivotal role in the Democrat’s historic midterm victory.

Protecting Our Vote PAC (www.protectingourvote.org), founded following the midterm losses in 2010, is an idea born from a sermon often preached by then-House Democratic Majority Whip James Clyburn (SC) – “Put money into GOTV efforts and reach the African-American community where they live…and Democrats will win elections…Make no mistake!” During the 2018 election cycle, POV mobilized African-American voters in two dozen House races and 7 Senate races.

Congratulations to the newly elected members of the House of Representatives along with the newly elected, and returning, members of the U.S. Senate:
